This Was Jeremy Clarkson’s Final Lap Around The Top Gear Test Track

It’s been a long time since Jeremy Clarkson, alongside Hammond and May, left Top Gear. He did more than just leave the show, though. He left The Stig, the studio, and probably what hurts us all the most, the test track.

Yes, the Eboladrome is fine. It’s got funny names for its segments and it does the job perfectly well, but it’s just not the Top Gear Test Track, is it?

At a charity auction after the ‘fracas’ incident, Jeremy explained how the BBC had ‘fucked themselves’, then later sold a drive with him around the test track for £100,000. This money later went to the Roundhouse Arts Charity.

“I’ll drive somebody around in whatever I can get hold of,” he said. “I’m sacked so it’s probably a Nissan Maestro. But anyway it will be my last ever lap of the Top Gear test drive.

“There was an 18-year waiting list to be in the audience of Top Gear, but the BBC has fucked themselves.”

Those lucky enough to bid the large amount of money, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and racing driver Marino Franchitti, got to choose from three possible cars: a La Ferrari, AMG GT, and 488GTB. But before this, they got a ride in Jeremy’s own Volvo XC90.

“Two good things about the last lap. It raised a load of cash for a good cause. And I did the motherfucker of all tail slides through Chicago,” Clarkson boasted.

God damn right!
