Jeremy Clarkson: Paddy McGuinness Reacts To Harsh Comments On New Top Gear

Top Gear has returned to our screens with a new home on BBC1 and it certainly feels like the new trio made up of Paddy McGuinness, Freddy Flintoff, and Chris Harris are getting into their stride. But it’s no surprise that ex-Top Gear and now presenter of The Grand Tour and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host Jeremy Clarkson has a few things to say about them.

Now, Paddy McGuinness has responded to these constant quips from Clarkson, addressing how he understands why he’d feel so strongly about it in an interview with Express.co.uk.

“No I think he’s such a massive part of Top Gear that he’s going do that isn’t he?” Paddy explains.

“There’s no two ways about it, if it wasn’t for him and Richard and James we wouldn’t be sitting here.

“So, you know, it’s all a bit of banter in it. Listen, it’s no more than what we say to each other.”

Freddie then goes on to joke that a few comments from Clarkson aren’t going to stop him from watching the popular ITV quiz show with the presenter at the helm.

“I like [Who Wants to Be a] Millionaire as well,” Freddie said.

Paddy then adds while laughing, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. We all love that. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Us please Jeremy.”

“I tell you what, you wouldn’t be my Phone a Friend Paddy,” Freddie jokes. “I don’t think I’d yours either.”

The new series of Top Gear started last weekend where the trio tested out three business class saloons in a rather unconventional way. We’ll be releasing our review shortly, but it’s fair to say they’ve certainly found their chemistry.
