Watch James May Assemble Food From His Childhood In New Cooking Show

James May, being born in 1963, had his late childhood swamped by 70s cuisine, and as we all know  now, he’s a bit of a foodie. The man likes his food and drink, so it’s no surprise that he’s started FoodTribe to celebrate this love.

In a bid to promote the site, he’s started a series of videos in which he makes food of low value, but high quality, starting with a staple lunch from his childhood: the salad sandwich.

The ingredients consist of white bread, lettuce, cucumber, onions and tomatoes. The butter must be margarine, and to finish it off, a layer of salad cream to add some flavour. Standard. Alongside it, James has chosen a Californian red wine.

Watch the video, and reminisce over the good ol’ days of James May’s Reassembler, we miss it!
