Video: Jeremy Clarkson Embraces His Inner Alan Partridge

What has been seen cannot be unseen.

Alan Partridge, played by comedian Steve Coogan, is a parody of the most pompous British celebrity broadcasters. With his overinflated ego, he makes us cringe and laugh with one of the greatest characters ever created. But who is Partridge based on? Well, Joe.co.uk has an idea, and it’s a little too close to home for comfort: Jeremy Clarkson. Watch the video below and you’ll see exactly what they mean.

As you can tell, Clarkson’s early mannerisms are almost identical to Partridge, and watching these clips back with this in mind makes it even funnier than the initial watch. In fact, he’s possibly more Partridge than Partridge. Plus, with some of the hairdos he sports, well, could it get any better?
