The Grand Tour Norway Special: Episode’s Three Cars Revealed

With Jeremy Clarkson sharing a photo of two of the cars that will be featured in the upcoming episode of The Grand Tour, the third was a real mystery. But with a bit of research and a lot of frowning at my computer screen, I’ve been able to pin down what I believe will be the third car featured in this Norway-based episode.

The first two cars were easy as they’ve already been shown to the world by the Clarkson’s Farm presenter.

Thanks to another video posted originally by sandernilssen0 on TikTok, we were able to spot who was driving which. Richard Hammond, unsurprisingly, is driving the blue Subaru Impreza WRX. James May is driving the yellow Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII, but what is Jeremy driving?

Well, there wasn’t a lot to go by, bar this one screenshot:

Not a lot can be seen of the car apart from the passenger seat. Now, with the other two cars being rally focussed, I was racking my brain as to what Clarkson could be driving that could fit this theme. Of course, there’s a logo on the seat which looked very Audi-like. I also thought I could see a 3, so I was of course thinking an A3 variant. But from my research, none of the seats matched any A3, S3, or RS3 models I could find.

Then I remembered a column from Jeremy a few months back where he revealed that a car he’d specifically bought for The Grand Tour had gone up in price thanks to the pandemic and the effect it had on used car prices. This car was an Audi RS4.

We bought an Audi RS4 for a Grand Tour film that had to be postponed because of the pandemic,” Jeremy wrote.

“And today it’s worth £8,000 more than it was 18 months ago.”

This seat looks to be one of the Recaro seats used on the B7 Audi RS4, which is a personal favourite of mine, and matches the screenshot to a tee:

So there you have it. These are the three cars featuring in The Grand Tour’s Norway special. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we learn more about the upcoming episode so stay tuned to GTN!
