Richard Hammond Roasts YouTubers’ Cars In Hilarious Video

Oh Richard Hammond, we’ve all known he was the nicest host of The Grand Tour, but this newest video of him “roasting” Youtuber’s cars really brings it to another level.

In the series of Drivetribe videos, where the guys are shown a series of celebrity vehicles, and then encouraged to make less-than-nice comments, Richard…just couldn’t.

“There are few thing finer in this life,” was one of Hammond’s brutal comments about Ken Block’s Ford Escort Cosworth.

Later, he even tears apart Schmee150’s McLaren Senna by saying, “it’s not my cup of tea, but it is yours…I’m going to say it’s cool, good job.”

In fairness, there wasn’t much negative Hammond could say about Jay Leno’s 1954 Jaguar XK120, since he owns one himself. However, Hammond did admit that once the Hammster-version is finished, it would be his personal preference over Lenos… since it will be done completely to his own liking.

“I suspect that represents a good 15 to 30 seconds of unrivalled joy, followed by a bang and lots of bits coming through the bonnet.”

Hammond insinuated the RX-7 Mazda, owned by Rob Dahm, would blow itself to pieces, since it combines two of Mazda’s fabled rotary-engines into one. However, moments later he said “until that happens it will be epic and wonderful, well done Rob!”

There are a handful more take-away impression in the video, including a Porsche 911 GT3 with an absolutely terrible paint job, that Hammond still finds mostly positive things to say about. As well as an insane Corvette, that now resembles more of a dune-buggy or “monster truck,” as Hammond puts it.

In all seriousness, there is something so refreshing about a genuinely positive personality. No doubt Hammond’s charm comes through in this segment, and hopefully he video-calls one of these Youtubers in a follow-up.
