The guys over at Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds took a 2019 Challenger Hellcat Redeye down their half-mile strip, and recorded the results for us all to see (and hear). The 6.2L V8 with 797hp and 707 lb-ft of torque, got down and dirty in the short distance provided.
What speed to you reckon it will get up to before easing up on the gas?
To my eye, the 4,443 lbs of supercharged Dodge Challenger got up to around 150 miles an hour by the end of the strip.
No doubt it takes some nice conditions for this sort of run to come out perfect, and on this particular day, that was the case. The temperature was in the low to mid 70s, and the wind was only occasional gusts.
The Redeye has a reported 0-60 of just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 203 mph. With those numbers it can get down a quarter mile track in 10.8 seconds.
The Widebody Redeye has a suggested price of $78,295, whereas the “regular” SRT Hellcat costs a few grand less, at $72,295. No doubt, if you’re going to be shelling out that much, you should also save up a bit for the inevitable speeding tickets you will be collecting, if you’re caught that is.
