With Jeremy Clarkson being a force to be reckoned with on Top Gear and now on The Grand Tour, the cars that he actually spends his own money on are quite important. The reason being that he has driven so many cars for his job, that when he actually buys a car, you know they’re going to be good.
Bentley Continental GT From The Grand Tour
After The Grand Tour’s filming in Madagascar with three modified cars, Clarson was keen on bringing his choice home for use on his new farm. This Bentley Continental GT is modified with an external roll cage, larger off-road tyres covered with wider arches, and a couple of snorkels sit on top of the car to allow it to drive through deep water without drowning. Underneath, the important bits are protected with armour making this thing unstoppable even on the worst terrain.
This AWD monster is currently sat alongside Clarkson’s farmyard vehicles.

For those who didn’t know, Lamborghini started building farm vehicles before cars – the only reason Ferruccio started building road cars was to beat Ferrari at his own game. So when Jeremy Clarkson started Diddly Squat Farm, it was only natural that he’d buy a tractor with a bull logo.
The tractor is so large he had to build another shed to fit it in, and once he’d done that, he realised that fitting things to it was “risky business” due to its huge amount of torque from its straight-six turbodiesel engine: 775 lb ft.
“Not that I can attach anything to its rear end. It’s all heavy engineering back there and I just know that if I tried, you’d be reading about yet another farmer walking for four miles across his fields with his severed arm in a bag,” he said.

Although you may be here for Clarkson’s supercars, we think his daily driver is much more important. Why? Because he spends the majority of his time in this. So it really must be up to the job! Unfortunately this isn’t the supercharged petrol version, but you can’t beat the low fuel consumption of the diesel V8 when the majority of your drives are on the motorway.
This Vogue is decorated with plenty of additional features, so perfect for a luxurious long drive for Clarkson.
Alfa Romeo GTV6 From The Grand Tour
Yep, the same Alfa Romeo GTV6 Clarkson drove during their Scottish rally of The Grand Tour is now sat on his driveway. He couldn’t resist the sweet tones of the V6 engine, so had to give it a home once the filming had ended.
During the episode, he said, “generally when we finish these jobs these cars end up, I don’t know where. But I know where this will end up. At my house”.

Again, another vehicle from The Grand tour was taken home by the presenter. Built from a Land Rover Discovery chassis and Mercedes SL body, it’s still being driven by its maker after it didn’t sell at the televised auction on the show.

We all know the story of Clarkson’s Ford GT. He bought it after it started production in 2005 and quickly found that it wasn’t quite right. Within days the immobiliser was faulty, and after several issues of the alarm going off in the middle of the night, the immobiliser disabling the car, and the car not starting, he gave it back to Ford. Although he did in fact buy it back, he later sold it.
While the GT is possibly one of the best-looking supercars out there, it has to be one of the most unreliable.
Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder
While it’s not the perfect car, Clarkson has a soft spot for Lamborghinis. In particular, the Gallardo Spyder. Clarkson describes it as a rugged sports car compared to Ferraris which are delicate. They also sound out of this world and therefore, suit Clarkson perfectly.
Ford Escort RS Cosworth
As part of Ford’s heritage racing history, every car collector needs a Cosworth at some point in their career. For Clarkson, the Escort RS Cosworth was the car to choose. Not only is it a legend in its own right, but now has the tick of approval from the big man!
While Clarkson may have a soft spot for Lamborghinis, he couldn’t say no to a Ferrari 355. This particular car was Clarkson’s first large purchase when he breached into his TV career. Unfortunately, he regretted going for the GTS version which he discussed in a column of Top Gear Magazine.
Everyone needs a car for the kids, and this is Clarkson’s. In fact, he loves the XC90 so much, he’s owned at least three. It must be good if he chooses to drive the kids to school in this over something German etc. A family man has to do what he has to do!
Previous Alfa Romeo GTV6
‘The one that got away’. That’s how Clarkson describes his Alfa GTV6 which he ended up selling. As Clarkson says, every petrolhead needs to own an Alfa, even if they are just Fiats with Alfa badges. He still to this day says that the Alfa GTV6 is the best sounding car he’s ever driven. Even ahead of the Lexus LFA. Of course, as you’ve already read above, he’s managed to get his hands on one again.
BMW 3.0L CSL (E9)
Bought before his fame, Clarkson couldn’t resist the lightweight BMW sports car. Competing with the likes of the Porsche Carrera, it was a force to be reckoned with. And Jeremy couldn’t choose a Porsche because he was taught to go against Hammond’s opinions from birth.
