Jeremy Clarkson Talks About Season 4 Mishap During Dangerous Filming

The Grand Tour Presents: Seamen is almost upon us, with Clarkson, Hammond and May‘s tour across the Mekong river soon to be released on Amazon Prime Video on Friday 13 December. A while you’d think taking three boats on a gorgeous river would be easy, reports say something very different.

It was reported that this episode was the most dangerous episode they’ve ever pulled off, with James May almost dying thanks to poor weather conditions, and Richard Hammond succumbing to an infection. Jeremy Clarkson steamed ahead, according to Express, leaving Hammond and May behind.

Jeremy Clarkson told Express, “I’ve been in rough seas… that’s not bravado”. James felt differently however, when he had a ‘temper tantrum’ on the water.

Clarkson said: “It took hours. There’s a lot of farting about when you’re filming.

“Then we all got separated, James had a temper tantrum and threw his radio in the sea, and I sort of plodded on and then just went really fast because I wanted it to be over, which actually seemed to make it better.”

However, getting to the end of the trip with no sight of his co-presenters or camera crew, he started to worry.

“When I got to the end there was no camera crew waiting and that’s never happened, so that was when I started to think ‘hang on’.

“There was a long gap between me arriving and Hammond arriving, and even longer gap to James.

“So it was time to sit in the bar of the harbour ordering beer after beer after beer as I worried about them.”

“I didn’t care about James and Richard,” he added.

“But the camera guys and the production team, they were really quite scared because those boats were sinking and four fisherman were drowning right by that river.”

Clarkson is referring to the fact that four fisherman were killed very close to where they were filming thanks to the adverse weather conditions. This was covered in a video from DriveTribe. Watch it below.
