Jeremy Clarkson Reveals His Own Favourite Top Gear Special

Jeremy Clarkson has done so much TV work, it must be difficult for him, as it is us, to sieve through the favourite moments. And with the recent success of the latest special from The Grand Tour, fans are reliving the best specials from both the Amazon TV show and old Top Gear.

With fans still buzzing, one took to Twitter to ask Jeremy Clarkson what his favourite special was from both his Grand Tour and Top Gear history:

“Of all the Grand Tour and other previous motoring show specials, which personally did you enjoy the most and which did you not like the most?” They asked.

It didn’t take the ex-Top Gear presenter long to answer:

“Botswana was great,” he answered. “Mongolia too. But the Middle East was probably the most amazing to watch.”

Botswana must be on Clarkson’s mind after the car he drove for the special, a Lancia Beta Coupe, was recently found more than ten years after it was left by the team to rot in Botswana. A YouTube video documented the find.

The video was later shown to Clarkson, with him responding with the following:

“Thank you for alerting me to this. Great to see it again,” he said.

Mongolia was also an incredible special for The Grand Tour, introducing fans to now one of the most iconic cars of the show, John, a car built by Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. But Clarkson deems the Middle East special to be the “most amazing to watch”.

This special was certainly one of their most dangerous adventures, with May suffering from a head injury when he was thrown to the ground while trying to free a stuck car with a strap. It looked like it really hurt, but made for excellent TV.
