Jeremy Clarkson Hits Pot Hole In Clarkson’s Farm Expansion: “Damn Council”

Jeremy Clarkson has hit a pothole in the road of Diddly Squat Farm as his plans to expand his car park have been rejected. The Clarkson’s Farm presenter was trying to grow the car park from 10 to 70 spaces, but after countless complaints from Chadlington locals, it’s not a surprise that they’ve been rejected by the local council.

The full application also included entry and exit points off of the Chipping Norton Road, plus a storage compound for Clarkson’s farm produce. But West Oxfordshire District Council (WODC) has responded, saying these additions would be “visually intrusive”, adding that the size and design of the application would not have been “compatible or consistent in scale with the existing farming business or its open countryside location”.

If this wasn’t enough, the council added that it would have a “harmful impact on the rural character, scenic beauty and tranquillity of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”.

This comes only a few months after Jeremy’s application for a restaurant was declined, too, after it was reported that it received over 50 objections from locals. Jeremy showed his anger at this decision on his Twitter account when a fan asked if there were any vacancies at the farm.

“Hi Jeremy” they wrote. “Do you take on work experience on the farm?

“My son… grandson needs his a** kicking into shape lol.”

Jeremy responded quickly: “Oh my God. Blast from the past.

“No vacancies at the moment though, I’m sad to say, because of the damn council.”

“I am sorry that, they’ve rejected the restaurant. I thought it was a wonderful idea,” another fan added.

“The tourism you’ve bought to the community is unbelievable!

“I bet the council enjoy the economical gain from it all though, which has spread throughout the Cotswolds! You did that, not them!” (sic)

We’re hoping season 2 of Clarkson’s Farm comes later this year, but we’re yet to hear anything concrete on a release date. We will, of course, keep you updated.
