Jeremy Clarkson Crashes Tractor After Being Banned By Farm Manager On Clarkson’s Farm

In a recent column, Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that he’d had an expensive accident on Diddly Squat Farm that resulted in “substantial damage” to his equipment. The Clarkson’s Farm presenter added that his farming manager (or tractor driver according to Jeremy’s new book), Kaleb Cooper, wasn’t happy with the outcome of the incident.

The Grand Tour presenter reportedly crashed a tractor that wasn’t his while farming his land, and when Kaleb came to help, his response was far from friendly.

Jeremy detailed the crash in his latest column, after he drove the machine into a “lone telegraph pole in a 52-acre field”.

He penned the following:

“I saw the pole coming from way back. And I watched it grow larger in the windscreen. And then I hit it.

“Actually, that’s not strictly accurate. I didn’t hit it. Nor did the tractor. But a wing of the six-metre-wide disc the tractor was towing did, at 17kph. The damage was substantial.

“Not only to the pole which carries a 13,000-volt cable, by the way, but also to the disc. Two of the box section steel arms were pretty much snapped off.”

Jeremy added that while he was driving the tractor to churn the soil, it “wasn’t mine”.

He continued:

“And then finally a pick-up truck came bumping over the field containing a man with white knuckles and a tempersome face,” he admitted.

“‘How’ve you done that?’ he asked crossly, before the door was shut,” he wrote in The Times.

“‘Dunno sir,’ I mumbled. ‘Can’t you do anything properly?’ he wanted to know in a hands-on-hips type of way.”

Kaleb, who was unamused, had already witnessed Jeremy endure a similar accident last year. The presenter then argued that the tractor’s brakes had not been functioning properly during the mishap.

When Kaleb learned that Jeremy had disced the field, he asked him why as he’d already banned Jeremy from using tractors recently, plus the field has already been seen to himself.

Jeremy continued: “I hadn’t even had a chance to answer before his voice went up a couple of octaves and he really let rip.

“After a bit of swearing and name-calling, there was an observation that even a child can tell a bit of field had been disced because ‘one bit’s brown and one bit’s green.'”

Kaleb left the scene in a white van, a van different to his usual set of wheels. The reason behind this change was that Kaleb had hit a wall with his own van only moments before, so obviously, there’s something in the water.
