James May To Front New Cooking Show – “Oh Cook!”

You read that right! James May of The Grand Tour, Our Man in Japan, and previous Top Gear, is now going to host his own cooking show by the name of “Oh Cook”. Get the pun? Of course you do.

This programme by Plum Pictures comes from the success of May’s cooking YouTube videos during his unemployment after he left the BBC’s Top Gear. An inside, according to The Sun, says the following:

“When he was temporarily unemployed after leaving BBC2’s Top Gear five years ago, James got quite a following for the cookery segments on his YouTube channel.

“He hinted that he’s almost as capable in the kitchen as he is behind the wheel of a high-performance sports car.

“And James has even appeared in an episode of Gordon Ramsay’s Channel 4 show, The F Word, where he went head-to-head with the chef to create a mean fish pie.

“Crucially, this show also builds on the idea of James as a TV personality in his own right, not just part of the presenting team of Top Gear and The Grand Tour.”

After the incredible success of Our Man in Japan, the unscripted travel programme which saw James travel from the north to the south of Japan, it’s no surprise that he’s been offered more chances to wow his overwhelming audience. The Amazon Prime Video series was simply outstanding, while being nicely informative at the same time and producing memes that have sprouted across the internet. “Hey, Bim!”

The production company is now searching for broadcasters to host the show. We’ll keep you updated as we know more. It’s safe to say, we’re very excited.
