James May Nearly Killed At Sea During Grand Tour Season 4 Filming

Last week we heard news that filming for The Grand Tour Season 4 had ended brilliantly. Not because of planning, but instead because of a forced change of plans.Today, Jeremy Clarkson reveals that they were close to being hit by a catastrophic monsoon, and James May was very nearly hurt because of it.

Alongside Richard Hammond and James May, Clarkson was being filmed rowing a boat in the sea near Cambodia and Vietnam before extreme weather swept in causing them to stop rolling. Just the day before, four people were killed merely ‘inches away’, as Clarkson explains in his column.

“It’s about the only time health and safety has made the correct decision,” he said.

“I, of course, was fine, but May had to abandon ship as crew boats were filling with water.”
