Grand Tour Producer Confirms Location Of Episode Following ‘Lochdown’ After “Facing Some Difficulties”

Earlier this year, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May were spotted in Crickhowell, Wales, in what seemed to be filming for an episode of The Grand Tour. It’s now been confirmed that this is where the episode following The Grand Tour Presents: Lochdown will be set.

A number of videos were sent in to us, including a video of Richard Hammond crashing his car several times while being filmed. This video, taken by a fan watching over the mayhem, shows a disgruntled Richard Hammond crashing into a Citroen Saxo on a quiet street, trying to push it out of the way so he could park his own vehicle, which looks to be a Renault Scenic.

New Grand Tour Special Episode Cars Revealed As Jeremy Clarkson And Co Film In Warwickshire

With spinning tyres and plenty of noise, Hammond successfully manages to push the other car over before getting out of his Renault and walking down the street.  This is obviously a staged accident, with it being filmed closely by cameramen for the upcoming episode.

The trio were later spotted in Leamington, Warwickshire, as they were driving three classic French cars around the area causing plenty of trouble and traffic.

Andy Wilman, executive producer of The Grand Tour has now confirmed that this is a future Grand Tour episode:

“It’s one of the big nightmares it is. We chose a country, I won’t say which one we chose, but we were working on a story in a country which was an amber country, so we could have gone to it, and then it went red just a few days ago, so back to the drawing board,” he said according to Digital Spy.

“It is very tricky at the moment to be able to say because we need three or four months to set up a big foreign job and it’s not really well us planning and spending hundreds and thousands of pounds setting up all of these fields, and then all of a sudden somebody says, ‘Oh well, we can’t go there now’ so we are facing some difficulties.”

Clarkson’s Farm Season 2 Officially Confirmed By Jeremy Clarkson In Hilarious Video

He confirms that they’ve chosen to film in Wales “to keep the wheels turning for a while”.

We’re yet to have confirmation about what this upcoming Wales episode will involve, but we’ve already seen the trio focus on a number of old French cars that they’ve expressed their love for in previous episodes of The Grand Tour and Top Gear.

During their time in Wales and the West Midlands, they were also blasted as being “litter louts” as debris from cars were found left on some grassland:

This was later fixed by the team, with Andy Wilman apologising:

“I wouldn’t want anyone to think we’re litter louts who just come to the countryside and use it as a playground, because we absolutely don’t do that.

“It happened on our watch. It wasn’t our policy to turn our backs on whatever we do. We had a system in place, in cooperation with the landowner, and it was a mistake rather than a cavalier attitude.

“Even though it was a genuine oversight and not an act of disregard for our surroundings, he (Mr Easthope) was right to kick off.”
