Notable Cast

Where is Clarkson’s Farm?

Clarkson’s Farm, named Diddly Squat Farm, has become incredibly popular over the last couple of years after the success of the show. Fans flock to the farm and its shop each day to buy the merchandise and produce available, while also hoping to see one of the show’s famous cast members.

Clarkson’s Farm can be found on the borders of Chipping Norton and Chadlington in Oxfordshire. Sat in the beautiful Cotswolds, the farm consists of around 1,000 acres and the Diddly Squat Farm Shop.

There’s a small car park, but because of the popularity of the place, customers and fans usually end up parking on the side of local roads.

Opening hours

Diddly Squat Farm Shop is open between Thursday and Sunday from 9:30am to 4:30pm.

This is what their website has to say:

Opened in 2020 by Jeremy Clarkson and Lisa Hogan, the Diddly Squat Farm Shop is a small barn full of good, no-nonsense things you’ll like. We do not, for example, sell kale.

We also have incredible food. Literally the best hamburgers in the world. And a full bar including Jeremy’s own Hawkstone beer. Table seating is available overlooking THE BIG VIEW.

All the stuff we sell in the shop is produced either on Diddly Squat Farm or by our neighbours in the Cotswolds.

If you can’t travel to the store, the website sells a number of the store’s products online with free shipping on orders over £60.

What happened in Season 1 of Clarkson’s Farm?

Season 1 of the show follows Jeremy Clarkson as he is introduced to the difficult world of farming. From buying his first tractor to selling his first produce, Jeremy covers it all with help from knowledgeable colleagues. Things become even harder when the pandemic hits.

Episode 1 – Tractoring

Jeremy Clarkson buys his first tractor. It’s a Lamborghini R8, costing him £40,000, but this large and powerful tractor from Europe turns out to be too big around his farm and doesn’t have the right attachments.

Episode 2 – Sheeping

Jeremy is confronted with an issue. His wild grass fields need to be maintained, but he doesn’t want to waste time cutting and trimming them himself. He buys a flock of sheep so they can eat the grass meaning he doesn’t have to do anything, but it turns out to be a lot more work than he expected.

It turns out, sheep aren’t bright animals, and while he learns to love them, they’re very difficult to keep and contain.

Episode 3 – Shopping

In a bid to earn more money, Jeremy starts Diddly Squat Farm Shop. But once again this turns out to be very difficult. His tomatoes are going off, his chickens are being eaten by foxes, and he finds out that the water he’s trying to sell is being contaminated.

This isn’t the last thing we hear of the shop.

Episode 4 – Wilding

In a bid to help the falling population of bugs and insects in the country, Jeremy turns his attention to his land. He attempts to dig a pond, dam a stream, and even thin out a woodland area. This doesn’t go well, so instead he buys some bees and battles with getting stung despite wearing a bee suit.

Episode 5 – Pan (dem) icking

The United Kingdom falls into lockdown thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. This means a number of regulations have to be adhered to on the farm such as social distancing, but because farmers are vital to the country, they can continue working.

Jeremy’s lambs are on their way, so he has to bring them into the world all by himself. What could go wrong?

Episode 6 – Melting

It’s one of the hottest, driest Springs in recorded history, and the farm is struggling because of this. In a bid to keep his crops alive and well, he confronts the issue head on as everything begins to be affected by this.

Episode 7 – Fluffing

The harvest is upon Jeremy and his team, but with it still being so hot, this only makes things harder. So, to try and prop up his dwindling revenue, Jeremy attempts to bottle and sell his own Spring water. This, as you’d expect, didn’t quite go to plan.

Episode 8 – Harvesting

It’s been a long year for the presenter, but the time is finally upon him to start the harvest of his hard work. He begins to harvest hundreds of acres of crops at the right time. Stressful is an understatement as he has to search for equipment to make this all worth it.

What could happen in season 2 of Clarkson’s Farm?

The faces we know and love are returning. Kaleb Cooper is back alongside Lisa Hogan, Gerald Cooper, and Charlie Ireland as Jeremy confronts another year of farming. This year revolves around diversification, though.

It turns out that there’s not a lot of money to be made in farming, so Jeremy will need to find other ways of using his produce and land to create revenue.

He started his own brand of lager, Hawkstone Lager, and Kaleb released a Hawkstone Cider, too. He also adds more products to the shop.

The main plot however, will likely revolve around the expansion of his business and his battle with the council as he applies for planning permission for a restaurant, larger carpark, and other small changes.

Clarkson’s Farm controversies

The show has been steeped in controversy since is started, with Jeremy Clarkson coming under fire multiple times by his neighbours, police, and council.

Neighbour issues

As Jeremy started talking about his farm and farm shop on social media, fans quickly started to flock to the site. This caused huge amounts of people and traffic in the area, and the locals didn’t take kindly to this.

While some were happy to have increased footfall around their own businesses within Chadlington and Chipping Norton, many neighbours complained about fans parking on the side of roads and driving too quickly.

Planning permission issues

Because of these issues with locals, the council has been against granting Jeremy Clarkson planning on his land.

His plans have included turning a lambing shed into a restaurant, building a large carpark big enough to stop fans from driving on the road, and landscaping around his land.

Issues with the police

After applying for planning permission for a larger carpark, the police classed the farm as a location prone to antisocial behaviour at night, calling it a site of “crime and disorder”.

Thames Valley Police’s crime prevention advisor Kevin Cox had told the local council:

“It is to be expected that this site may well generate significant interest, and due to its isolated rural location, I have concerns that it may be vulnerable to crime and antisocial behaviour.

“Currently I do not feel this application adequately considers the potential for crime and disorder, and I recommend that the applicants provide a Crime Prevention and Security Statement.

“In order to protect the site and prevent unauthorised vehicle intrusion outside of opening hours, I recommend gates are added to the entrance and exit route.”

What is the release date of Clarkson’s Farm Season 2?

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed on an Instagram post when he expects Clarkson’s Farm Season 2 to be released.

While we don’t have an exact release date, Jeremy has given us a good idea as to when we should expect it to be released to Amazon Prime Video:

“Filming ends in mid July. So it should be edited and ready to go early in the new year.”

Fans were quick to respond to the comment:

“That’s ages Jeremy. Have a word please.” Another added, “possibly the slowest edit….. in the world.”

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
