Clarkson’s Farm Christmas Rush Causes Mayhem As Fans Flock To Area

Fans have caused havoc as they sit in line causing traffic around Clarkson’s Farm only days after Jeremy Clarkson revealed the release of The Grand Tour Presents: Carnage A Trois. Handfuls of cars were found parking on grass verges and roads around the area as the new episode sparked interest in Diddly Squat Farm, as well as the need to buy Christmas presents.

Locals complained about the extra traffic, but the main issue came when the cars hit the wet car park at the shop, resulting in what visitors called a “sea of mud”. They added that the farm should change its name to Diddly Squelch.

While the shop describes itself as “a small barn full of good, no-nonsense things you’ll like”, locals have been complaining about its effect on the area since its opening, shown in the first series of Clarkson’s Farm.

To try and improve his relationship with the surrounding area, as well as update locals on his future plans, Jeremy Clarkson help a meeting. But this wasn’t entirely successful as some of the public were still hostile towards him despite the show of good faith.

“I’m just here to listen. Gossip spreads in villages and they don’t know what we’re doing so I thought, the best thing I can do is come down and say, ‘This is what we’re doing’, and then it isn’t gossip anymore,” he told reporters at the time.

“Someone gave me the finger on the way in.”

One villager told the presenter the following:

“The things is, Mr Clarkson, you are not a farmer. You are a media personality and farming to you is a sideline. But this is our village and we have to live with the consequences.”

Another told the ex-Top Gear presenter that his farm shop offered very little to the public, with him quickly hitting back at the jab:

“I wonder how many people in this room have actually been up there,” he asked.

One member of the public replied:

“Have you seen the queues? We couldn’t get in if we wanted to”.

Not all comments on the farm and shop were negative, but Jeremy certainly has an uphill battle, especially with his latest plan of building a restaurant on a disused lambing shed. Of course, he’s having issues with this, too. Read about that here.
