F1 News: Lewis Hamilton Shows Off His Skydiving Skills As Australian GP Nears

It’s fair to say that if you’re an F1 driver, you chase the feeling of adrenaline surging through your body. One way to achieve this is, obviously, driving your F1 car on the limit as it pierces the warm air of a rich and wonderful country and sheds flakes of paint as it hits an apex to within a few centimetres of where the driver wanted it placed. Or, I suppose you could just go skydiving.

That’s exactly what Lewis Hamilton did in Dubai over the weekend as he waits for the Australian Grand Prix to near closer. He shows off his chops via a video on Instagram:

“Had the best day yesterday,” he captioned the video with. “A very ideal way to spend a Sunday. I’ve been sky diving for a couple years now but naturally through the pandemic I didn’t get to go.

“Got 10 jumps in, learned something new each time. It’s such a great way to clear the mind, recenter and refocus on the week ahead.”

Fans were quick to make jokes about Mercedes’ potential reaction to this as he falls from the sky.

“Mercedes after seeing this 😮,” one fan joked.

Another added: “Mercedes insurance be looking like 👀.”

A third also noted how expensive the insurance on the 7-time world champion could be:

“Goodness, the insurance on you doing that must be horrendous lol! Spectacular!” (sic).

It’s race week once again and this time fans expect to see a faster Australian Grand Prix compared to what they’ve seen previously after a number of changes have been made to the track including the widening of some portions, changing the camber of corners, and retarmacking the circuit.

Lewis Hamilton will be keen to make an impression this weekend after a disappointing finish at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Hamilton finished P10 after a poorly timed pit, with his teammate George Russell finished P5.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
