F1 News: Charles Leclerc Reflects On His Disappointing Qualifying At Hungarian GP

Charles Leclerc finishes qualifying at the Hungarian Grand Prix in 3rd position after struggling with his tyres. The Ferrari driver pushed as hard as he could to get pole position, but this was taken by Mercedes’ George Russell, with P2 being taken by teammate Carlos Sainz.

It looked to be yet another race with Red Bull and Ferrari at the top, but with Red Bull struggling with apparent engine issues, Mercedes found its pace and managed to out-drive the Ferraris. Leclerc has now admitted that it wasn’t a good day, with inconsistency affecting the tyres.

“Today has not been a great day,” the driver told the press post-race. “I’ve been struggling massively with the tyres and just had a lot of inconsistency to put the tyres in the right window in these conditions. So, I struggled to put a lap together.”

Despite a bad day at the office, Leclerc stays positive for the race on Sunday.

“We will look into it, but I am pretty sure that we have the pace in the car to come back to the front tomorrow. We will focus on that and hopefully have a better Sunday.”
