The car industry is changing far too quickly for my liking with EV culture suddenly becoming just another type of car to consider buying. But what cars are people looking at this year in the States?
PartCatalogue.com has put together information together from Google trends since January 1st on new vehicles to be released this year, and it’s not a surprise that EV searches have almost dominated the findings.
In total, 7 models of car have come up most. Here’s the list:
- Ford Bronco – 19 states
- Chevrolet Corvette Stingray – 13 states
- Land Rover Defender – 6 states
- Porsche Taycan – 5 states
- Tesla Model Y – 3 states
- Rivian R1T – 2 states
- Ford Mustang Mach-E – 2 states
As you can see, the upcoming Ford Bronco is leading searches with it winning over 19 states. That’s not such a surprise thanks to rumours flying for months before its official reveal. The model is a legend in its own right, too.
Coming second with 13 states is the all-new C8 Corvette. Also not a surprise after it made waves for its change of engine layout and the surrounding drama that followed including GM mechanics getting caught street racing the not-yet-released vehicle.
Third is the Defender which, like the Bronco, has a long history and following. But the following four cars are all electric with the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model Y winning over 5 and 3 states respectively, and the Rivian R1T and Ford Mustang Mach-E coming sixth and seventh.
I’m personally very surprised (and glad) to see Rivian up there surrounded by very popular manufacturers. They will be a manufacturer to watch, for sure.
