Watch Ken Block And His 914BHP Hoonitruck Drift Up A Chinese Mountain: Climbkhana 2

Ken Block is back after a long period of building cars with the second Climbkhana video, with him at the helm of his 914hp Hoonitruck. In the video, he powers his way up the dangerous Tianmen Mountain, better known as Heaven’s Gate, which resides in China.

Known also as one of the most beautiful roads in the world, it’s a pleasure to watch the Hoonigan Media Machine’s filming as Block throws smoke to the air in plenty of sideways action as the team celebrates ten years from the release of the first ever Gymkhana video.

The road is a popular place for automakers to film, with both Land Rover and VW claiming the area in their videos. But the nine-minute video from Block certainly beats them on action and tension as he slides his highly modified Ford F-150 truck inches from sheer drops.

This video isn’t about speed, though. It’s about taking each of the road’s 99 corners in the epic style that we’ve become accustomed, and almost desensitised to, in the Hoonigan videos. To be honest, compared to some of his previous videos, it almost feels relaxed in comparison to the donut and stunt filled Gymkhanas previously released, regardless of how many pandas he circles. But this video does showcase the immense performance of the Hoonitruck that Block’s expert builders have adapted to take on this road course.

And boy does it sound good…

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
