VIDEO: Water Powered Trike Can Reach 60mph In Just 0.5 Seconds

This man, Francois Gissy, is a bit of a daredevil to say the least. Not long ago he built a bicycle that could reach 207mph. What was so special about this bicycle? Well, it had something to do with the rocket attached to its rear.

This time, he’s showing us that you don’t have to have some form of combustion to reach ridiculous speeds. His latest creation is a trike powered by nothing but rain water. And it can reach 62mph in just 0.55 seconds. Intrigued?

It has a motorbike front fork, rear wheels from a go-kart, and a carbon fibre wrapped water tank made from aluminium which carries 35 gallons of water under 6000psi of pressure. Each milliliter poured in by hand via a saucepan – crazy or a genius?

All that was left to do was connect the trike up to some measuring equipment and pull the scary go lever. At this point, the trike and its rider hurtles towards 62mph in just 0.55 seconds under 5.1g. He’s lucky he didn’t fall off the thing as it hurried towards the end of the strip.

Talk about eco-efficient! Although you’d be a bit stuck during a hosepipe ban…

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
