Truck Hitting Bridge On the Highway Results In Canola Seed Explosion

If you were driving on Highway 40 in the Montreal area yesterday, you may have seen a truck driving along with a raised dump trailer. You may then have seen the truck with the raised dump trailer plow right into the overpass, which then resulted in canola seeds exploding everywhere.

You can’t make this stuff up, folks.

The incident occurred yesterday at approximately 11:30 AM when a truck traveling at highway speeds with its trailer raised smashed into a pedestrian bridge overpass. Canola seeds, which the truck was transporting, proceeded to fly everywhere, and pieces of the trailer became embedded in the bridge.

The highway remained closed for nearly 20 hours with no injuries reported. There is no information yet on whether the trailer was raised due to a mechanical failure or driver negligence.
