This Porsche Taycan Based Pickup Truck Is The Future Of The Brand – The Traykan

America is a hotbed of truck lovers. They’re fat roo large for the UK where I live, but travel to America and every way you look you’ll see a pickup… or a Tesla. The Ford F-150 is currently dominating American sales at the moment, which has stopped luxury brands such as Mercedes from muscling their way in. But would you give Porsche a go?

A designer named Adel Bouras has done his bit on putting together a Taycan-like pickup from the German sports car company. This, everybody, is called the Traykan. It’s obviously based on the Taycan and because of that, offers a sporty design with plenty of presence on the road if it were to ever get there.

The front of the bumper boasts a light bar that runs from one side to the other, connecting the headlights. Beneath this sits two fog lamps and a large grille. From the side, you can see just how raised the vehicle is with plenty of wheel to make going anywhere slightly more possible, and enough gap between tyre and arches to make for a more than pleasant ride. At the rear is a curvaceous rear bumper, reminiscent of Porsche’s old front-engined 944 and 928, and two large exhausts finish the design nicely.

While this seems to be powered by a combustion engine, don’t you think an all-electric version of this with the Taycan’s running gear would be excellent? With the Cybertruck looking to be weirdly popular, this could make a good addition to a rapidly growing market of EV pickup trucks. Just like the Cayenne, I believe this would be the perfect moneymaker for the brand, allowing it to then focus on the improvement and innovation of its sports car range.
