The Miura will always hold the mantle of being the first mid-engined supercar. The excitement of Lamborghini has always been unrivalled (minus maybe their latest cars), with the Miura innovating the motor industry on its release, and its successors such as the Countach and Murcielago gracing our childhood walls with their gorgeous lines and sun-kissed colours.
It’s not everyday you get to witness a Miura in person, let alone hear its 3.9-litre V12 roar into action in the best oil filled, petrol fumed Lamborghini-esque way possible. While it’s known that the Miura isn’t that great a performance car, you can’t beat the look and sound of a Lamborghini. Its headlight eyelashes twinkle with each individually numbered lash, and its thick tyres overshadowed by the wide arches ooze muscle and performance.
This video was taken at Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2013 and shows just how much drama this legendary car has to give. It turns out, quite a lot. This is the car that put Lamborghini on the map, let’s pay some respect to the supercar of supercars and take a few moments to hear it in all of its glory.
