This Honda Civic Type R Would Be Perfect For An LS4 V8
General Motors’ LS small-block V8 series is among the most iconic engines ever produced, and one of the most noteworthy is the LS4.
GM’s LS4 replaced the 5.3-liter and offered a front-wheel-drive design instead. This could be transversely installed and could be found in vehicles like the Chevrolet Impala SS, the Monte Carlo SS, and the Pontiac Grand Prix GXP, and has been a popular trend among enthusiasts wanting to swap their front-wheel-drive performance cars.
Abimelec Design has thought up what an FK8-generation Honda Civic Form R would be like with an LS4 V8 under its beneath the hood.
The standard Honda Civic Type R comes equipped with a 4-cylinder turbocharged 2.0-liter, but the LS4 V8 could easily fit in the engine bay. Originally, the engine produces 303 hp and 323 lb-ft (437 Nm) torque, but swap this out for an LS4 V8 and you could get more than 350 hp without forced induction and plenty more torque.
If any modern hot hatch and its chassis could take the onslaught of an American V8, it’s probably the Civic Type R. Simply put, Honda’s engineering attempted to phase out all torque steering from the hot hatch, so it’s likely the chassis could withstand the increased torque from the V8.
