This Custom Toyota Tacoma Has A 900 HP NASCAR Engine

Thanks to the imagination of designer Jon Sibal and the great minds of Toyota Racing Development, (TRD) this Toyota Tacoma has been turned to 11, making it possibly one of the craziest pickups to ever exist. Being built over the last few months, it’s specifically constructed to drift, with rallycross and road racing being at the top of the list. The majority of the build will be shown on the Discovery Channel’s TwinTurbo, so we’ll keep you updated as soon as we know more about that.

As you can tell from the images, there’s obviously not a lot of the stock vehicle left. In fact, all that is left is the passenger cell and the front crash structure. The rest of the truck is made up of a custom fabricated steel frame which also makes u the internal roll cage. The bed is also bespoke, as are the muscled body panels front, back, and side that make the truck look so aggressive. That includes the roof scoop that stretches far back and over the fuel cell in the rear.

Amazingly, this whole build only took 90 days, and this includes the TRD NASCAR V8 engine that sits under the bonnet. It produces a remarkable 900 hp. As you can hear below, it makes some serious noise. So we’re going to end this with a host of videos of it doing what it does best. Moving fast and making noise.

Like it? Yeah, thought you might.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
