This 760HP Pagani Zonda ‘Aether’ Is On Auction for $5.5 Million

The Pagani Zonda has been around for a long time now, with the first example, the C12 debuting at the Geneva Motorshow back in 1999. Wow, what a life it has had with countless variants and specs littering billionaire’s garages around the world. If you haven’t guessed, they’re quite pricey.

This variant, known as the Aether is now up for sale, and is different in the fact that it is roofless. Yep, there’s no roof getting in the way of that screaming V12, and to add to the orchestra of wails and roars, a roof scoop sits above your head able to gulp down all the air the engine needs to produce its 760 horses of AMG performance.

But before you roll your eyes and mutter to yourself that this is just another high-powered supercar with an auto gearbox, fear not. This car has six-speeds of manual fun ready to push all that power to the rear wheels.

As you can see from the photos, it’s difficult to find a surface which isn’t carbon fibre, and when you do, it’s red accenting which runs from the centre of the bonnet, down the side of the car, and at the tips of that large wing.

This is a race car through and through, with straps instead of door handles, a large diffusor at the rear, and… ah… one hell of a price tag.

RM Sotheby’s is selling this after the Formula 1 race at Abu Dhabi, and is expecting a selling price of $4.5 – $5.5 million. There’s no doubt that this car will sell, but before it does, I’m going out to buy myself a lottery ticket. You never know.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps.

He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX.
