This 1,200HP Lamborghini Huracan Is Beyond Crazy

If you were lucky enough to buy a Lamborghini, I doubt one of the first things you’d say would be, ‘you know what, this thing needs more power’. People would say you were absolutely mad for even suggesting it.

Well that is exactly what Norwegian company Zyrus have done. They’ve taken a look at a Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo and thought ‘no, we can do better than this’, and they’ve actually gone and given it a go.

So the ladies and gentlemen over at Zyrus must be absolutely bonkers, but I for one am so glad that they are, because please allow me to introduce you to the Zyrus Lamborghini LP1200.

The LP1200 was a project the company announced last year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, their work had to be put on hold. Thankfully they’re back up and running and have delivered on their promise of an even more mental Lamborghini.

The reason the Zyrus Lamborghini LP1200 has come into being is so it can compete in the open class of the Norwegian Extreme GT Championship, a competition where its vehicles regularly top over 1,000 horsepower.

So what’s new? Well according to Zyrus, over 527 parts of the stock Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo have been redesigned and the entire body is now made out of carbon fibre. Other additions include a rear diffuser, a huge front splitter and a large rear wing which creates a total downforce of 2,645 pounds. The rest of the engine includes Inconel manifolds, a titanium exhaust system and a large intercooler too.

Zyrus have even gone and tuned the Huracan’s 5.2 litre V10 engine and have installed two turbochargers to increase the horsepower up to an eye watering 1,200 hp. Obviously that kind of power is just not good enough quite frankly, so its a good thing the Norwegian company are bringing out two even faster models in the form of the LP1600 and LP2000 in the future.

If you want to get your hands on one of these, Zyrus aren’t making it easy for you – firstly they are only building 24 of these cars, secondly I can’t begin to imagine how much they’ll cost and lastly, of the 24 cars being built, only 12 will be road legal.
