Ten Of The Greatest Cars Owned By NBA Players

Lifestyles of the rich and the famous, we can’t deny that it’s something we’re all interested in and one of the first questions on your mind as a car lover is, what do they drive? This is especially the case with sports stars as they have the perfect balance of being young enough to buy some pretty absurd vehicles but rich enough to justify it.

Whether it’s baseball, NFL, NHL, football (as a Brit, I refuse to call it soccer), or in this case NBA players drive there are always some pretty wild examples. So without further a due, here is the top 10 NBA players cars according to Grand Tour Nation:

10. Dwight Howard – Bentley Mulsanne

First on the list is eight time All-Star, eight time All-NBA Team honouree, five time All-Defensive Team member and three time Defensive Player of the year, Dwight Howard, and his Bentley Mulsanne.

This beauty offers the discerning basketball pro luxury and speed with all the bells and whistles that you’d come to expect with a Bentley. Intertwined with a huge twin turbocharged 6.75 litre V8 engine that produces a more than reasonable 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 184 mph.

9. John Wall – Mercedes G550 4X4²

Next up, and in number 9, is five time NBA All-Star and Washington Wizards point guard, John Wall and his amazing Mercedes Benz G550 4X4².

This G550 was custom made for him by Dreamworks Motorsport and features custom red wheels, custom painted brakes, camouflage wrap, a custom stereo system and ceramic coat alongside the 4 litre twin-turbo V8 engine that comes alongside it. The massive engine produces 416 horsepower and 450 pound of torque.

8. Kevin Durant – Mercedes Benz SLS AMG

Coming in hot at number eight is Kevin Durant’s mean looking Mercedes Benz SLS AMG. Granted it’s not as expensive as some of the cars before it but we’re just loving it.

During Kevin Durant’s glittering career he has won two NBA championships, an NBA Most Valuable Player Award, two Finals MVP Awards, two NBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Awards, four NBA scoring titles, an NBA Rookie of the Year Awards and two Olympic Gold Medals. He has also been selected into nine All NBA teams and ten NBA all star teams as well as being considered one of the highest earning basketball players in the world, due to massive endorsement deals with companies such as Foot Locker and Nike.

His Mercedes Benz SLS AMG produces an incredible 563 horsepower from a 6.2 litre V8 engine, which paired with a 7 speed dual-clutch semi-automatic transmission, is capable of going 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds.

7. Lebron James – 2018 Maybach S650

Number sevens owner needs no introduction – three time NBA champion, two time Olympic gold medalist and four time NBA MVP (Most Valuable Player) Lebron James and his 2018 Maybach S650.

This beauty comes with a starting price tag of around $171,745 USD and a 621 horsepower, 6.0 litre, twin-turbo V-12 engine. Much like Dwight Howard’s Bentley Mulsanne before it, the Maybach offers both comfort and power into one very expensive package.

6. Dwyane Wade – Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

At number six is Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade’s Ferrari F12 Berlinetta – arguably, and in my opinion, my favourite of the supercar hatchback iterations we’ve seen over recent years.

The F12 Berlinetta has a starting price of around $323,745 and has a gargantuan 730 horsepower 6.3 litre V-12 engine which hits 0-62mph in a cool 3.1 seconds – which is the kind of power you need nay deserve as your car of choice if you’re a 3x NBA champion such as Wade.

5. Ferrari 458 Spider – John Wall

In at number 5, and for the second time on this list, we have John Wall and this time we’re with his Ferrari 458 Spider.

The Ferrari 458 Spider is very popular car to be owned by celebrities with the likes of John Wall (obviously), Jeremy Clarkson, Rick Ross and Kylie Jenner all having owned one. It comes as no surprise as not only does this beast look incredible it can also go from 0-60mph in 3 seconds and has a top speed of 199 mph.

4. Lebron James – Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet

For the second time too, we have Lebron James and this time with his gorgeous 911 Turbo S Cabriolet. Now, I have to admit, this one is a bit of a personal favourite and hence so far up the list. You might not think it belongs above the likes of a Ferrari 458 Spider or a Maybach S650 but this is MY list okay?

The stunning Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet starts at around $163,050 and can go from 0-60mph in a whopping 2.6 seconds. Not a bad choice Lebron, not bad at all.

3. Dwight Howard – Knight Xv

Much like Lebron James and John Wall, LA Lakers Centre Dwight Howard, is coming into this list for a second time, with his incredibly unique and outright terrifying, Knight XV from Conquest Vehicle Inc.

Now, maybe this is just because I’m British, but I have never seen anything like this driving around the streets of London and that is why I have put it so high at number 3. I think it’s the perfect amalgamation of flash, power, pure muscle and overall ‘I’m a pro athlete’ x-factor that you may not get from our pro athletes over the pond – with their flash exotic sports cars dominating the European football club car parks.

The Knight XV is a hand built luxury SUV and is a fully armoured vehicle (unusual I know, but also not un-surprising.. just look at it). The interior includes luxury carpeting, flat screen television, LED lighting and your games console of choice too.

If we were to take any vehicle into the zombie apocalypse, it would have to be this one if I could afford the $295,000 price tag. Its V10 6.8 litre bio fuel engine, alongside its luxury, would bring the perfect mix of survival and luxury needs.

2. Lebron James – Lamborghini Aventador Roadster

And he’s got his hat trick (is that just a football thing? I don’t know) Lebron James has scored for a third time and has come in at number two with his incredible Lamborghini Aventador Roadster. Now I know literally in the last paragraph I was talking about European footballers and their exotic supercars but the Aventador is the ultimate sports star vehicle – especially when you have a paint job on it like Lebron does.

With a price tag of a huge $460,247, a massive 6.5 litre V12 engine and a 0-62mph in just three seconds – I’m not surprised that few NBA starts even own one, but when you’re an MVP like Lebron, you’ve got to have this Lamborghini in your garage.

1. Derrick Rose – Bugatti Veyron

Derrick Rose comes in at the illustrious number one spot and it comes as no surprise really, he’s got a Bugatti Veyron..

The ultimate supercar and one I’m sure a lot of his peers are incredibly jealous of. Featuring a mind boggling 8.0 litre turbo quad W-16 engine that produces an unbelievable 1001 horsepower. In case you want to join Derrick Rose in the Veyron club, you’ll need to have about $1.7 million spare.

And there you have it, The Grand Tour Nation list of our favourite NBA player cars. Obviously any NBA players garage is pretty extensive so there is plenty to choose from – let us know who’s got your top spot in the comments.
