It’s Official: Porsche 911 GT2 RS Holds The Nurburgring Nordscleife Record

Sorry Lambo, Porsche now holds the road legal sports car record around the Nurburgring Nordschleife with a seriously fast time of 6:47.3, obliterating the Huracan Performante’s time of 6:52.01.

Last week we wrote about a GT2 RS that was spotted by Dale Lomas of Bridge to Gantry. He noticed the car running some laps at the Nordschleife and took two photos; one at Turn 13, and another when the car passed Turn 13 again.

Judging by the timestamps on the his photos, Lomas noticed that the GT2 RS was completing a full lap in less than seven minutes. Exactly how much less than seven minutes was not known at the time, but Lomas predicted that the GT2 RS could potentially beat the Huracan Performate’s time.

Well Mr. Lomas, you were 100% correct in your guess. We now have official onboard footage of the run completed on September 20th, and it’s pretty insane. Enjoy the video, and let’s sit back and see what Lamborghini has planned for a counterpunch!
