NIO Teams Up With Razer To Bring Us The 544HP ES6 Night Explorer Limited Edition

NIO has been struggling lately despite their electric car, the EP9, obliterating Nurburgring records and wowing us at the famous Goodwood hill climb course. They’ve had to lay off employees and sell their Formula E team, but this doesn’t mean the Chinese company still hasn’t got its sights set on changing the world one EV at a time.

Their latest EV comes as a surprise; it comes from a joint venture between themselves and Razer, a company that focusses on hardware, software, and services for gamers. From this partnership, the ES6 Night Explorer Limited Edition Vehicle has been created – a 544hp SUV.

Only 88 units wil be produced with the car’s debut coming during the 2019 ChinaJoy at the Razer booth. Sales however begin from now, with the Razer emblem and colour pallet separating this from the standard ES6. The Razer logo will be present alongside NIO’s, alongside other changes such as green callipers, carbon fibre decals and a custom rear emblem.

The ES6 follows on from previous NIOs with a similar design language and an exterior aesthetic that reflects the dizzying performance of the car. The Performance Edition, which this special edition is based on, also has NIO Pilot, NOMI Mate, enhanced interior displays and other high-tech additions. With 544hp at its disposal, a 0-62 time of 4.7 seconds isn’t a shock.

Prices for the Night Explorer Limited Edition will start at 467,800 yuan which is around £55,563 at the current exchange rate.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps.

He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX.
