Mopar’s New 1,000hp ‘Hellephant’ Crate Engine Sounds Insane

We recently told you about the latest V8 crate engine to be revealed in this year’s SEMA show aptly named the Hellephant. You can find out everything you need to know about the engine here. So go and read that article if you haven’t heard about it yet. Done? Okay, let’s get on to the star of the show.

Mopar recently released a video of the engine’s press release. During this video, they don’t only show off the astounding looks of the Dodge Charger concept car which is equipped with the Hellephant in hand, but they also show you the engine itself in all of its glory.

From a separate glass box, they rev the 1,000hp V8 crate engine in front of the audience, who naturally go wild over the sound of pure American muscle.

In the video above, you don’t only get to see that shot, but they’ve also put together some audio files specifically of the engine and exhaust note so you can hear it in a controlled environment.
