Meet The Tesla Model S ‘Cyberwagon’ – A Cybertruck Inspired Render

Tesla might have just started the next trend with its all-electric truck, the Cybertruck. Since its reveal last November, countless other companies have cottoned on to its rapid success and revealed their own variant of the niche, but none other has done it quite so well. Elon Musk’s truck was angular and distinct with its visible metal chassis and retro-like design. But what happens when you push this design language onto other Tesla models like the Model S? YouTube auto artist, The Sketch Monkey finds out.

He sets out to turn the Model S saloon shape into a Cybertruck-inspired wagon. We’ve covered a few Tesla wagons in our time, but none that have such an angular nature as the one he’s designed. He eases the angles of the Cybertruck into the curvaceous design of the Model S and somehow manages to pull it off without it looking like an add-on.

He tugs on the lines that are currently embedded into the Model S and sharpens them, bringing the side creases out prominently and running it down the entire side of the car. This is what joins the body rear to the rest of the car. The rear could split opinions, with the hexagonal rear glass being a real statement. Three red LED strips adorn the top and sides of the rear emphasising the jagged nature of the design. It’s really boxy, and almost old Volvo-looking.

He explains, as we watch his sped up mouse adust lines and shading, that it was very difficult to do this as the car has a very minimalist approach to styling. It almost has no brand identity and very little styling. The cars are pure function over form, especially when it comes to the Cybertruck.

Overall, we like it a lot. There are some lines we might change – that rear glass could do with some going over – but it’s one of the best looking Tesla wagons we’ve seen. And imagine all the dogs you could fit in the back, not to mention the long bits of wood and extra kids and the shopping. This is pure automotive smut, and we love it.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
