Meet the 818HP Gemballa Porsche GTR 8XX Evo-R Biturbo

Porsches are pretty god damn fast already. But if a 500-odd horsepower, rear-engined sports car doesn’t take your fancy, maybe take a look at this. The Gembella Porsche GTR 8XX Evo-R Biturbo. Bit of a mouthful, yes. But so are the upgrades.

If you give your 991 Turbo or Turbo S to Gembella, they’ll of all start with the body. They rework the front bumper, the front boot, and adorn the car with greater air scoops on its flared side arches. A diffusor has been added, as well as air guides. Of course, no aftermarket car is happy without a huge sod-off wing mounted to its rear. This one is no different. But before you think all of this extra material is going to increase the weight, the changes are all made from carbon fibre, meaning it’s lighter than before. That’s before they add the roll cage.

Here’s the good bit though. Thanks to its 818bhp, 3.8-litre biturbo engine, it can accelerate to 62mph in just 2.38 seconds, and push on to 24mph in just 7.5 seconds. It will keep driving to 230mph if left to its own devices, but when a corner does arrive, it’s more than happy to handle it with ease with its wider, stickier tyres.

This level of performance doesn’t come cheap, but Gemballa don’t want to reveal pricing just yet. But be prepared for a 6-figure price tag.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
