A few months ago, the head of the Jeep brand Tim Kuniskis was asked if the Hellcat engine would fit in the new Gladiator. His response was, “fits like a glove.” But Jeep was never going to put it in themselves for technical reasons.
Thank God for John Hennessey, the madman behind the Hennessy Venom, which was at one point the fastest car in the world. They’ve done something magnificent and branded it the Maximus 1000…
Hennessey has managed to cram the 6.2-litre V8 monster under the hood, and with it, has given the car a 700hp boost to 1,000hp and 933 pound-feet of torque. No wonder Hennessey is calling this the “ultimate version” of the Gladiator. There are plenty of other additions too, as you can see below:
- ECU, Wiring Harnesses, Radiator, Fuel System
- Stainless Steel Exhaust System
- MAXIMUS Front & Rear Bumpers
- LED Lights
- Hennessey 20-inch Wheels
- BFG 20-inch KD Off-Road Tires
- Upgraded Suspension System with 6-inch Lift
- Custom Interior Leather Upgrade with Hennessey & MAXIMUS Embroidered Seats
“Our clients want exclusive, extreme vehicles that deliver a fun and exciting driving experience both on and off-road,” said Hennessey. “Win the crowd and you’ll win your freedom was the advice that the elder gladiator gave to Russell Crow in the Gladiator movie. We could not agree more!”
That’s not all you get, either. A 3 year 36,000 mile warranty is yours for the taking, too. But if you fancy it, be quick, as Hennessy is only making 24 of this model to the tune of $200,000 each. Luckily, this does include the stock Jeep Gladiator which it’s built upon.
Production is slated to begin in July, and it’s going to take approximately four months to build. The company plans to build 2 units per month.
