Maserati MC20 Will Have Over 600HP From Twin-Turbo V6 – Coming Next Year

This coming September is going to be a big one for Maserati as the all-new MC20 sports car is set to be premiered and we are all rather excited at Grand Tour Nation about it. The mid-engined car, first teased by the Italian car manufacturer last year was originally pencilled in for a debut in May – however, as expected, this how now been pushed back to later in the year in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.

The main talking point of the MC20 will be its twin-turbocharged, 3.6 litre, V6 engine which will be able to produce a whopping 600hp. The engine is understood to be paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, but that is all rumours at the moment – also rumoured is whether the vehicle will be rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. However, we are aware that a hybrid option will be available in the future, followed by an all-electric version.

The tub of the car will be similar carbon-fibre to the Alfa Romeo 4C, but will be longer and wider and have a longer wheelbase. The images seen of the camouflaged MC20 already indicate the vehicle will be much larger than the 4C.

Assuming the car’s unveiling goes ahead as planned this September, we should imagine you’ll be able to get your hands on one in 2021, it is believed that we will also see the arrival of a convertible version in 2021 too.
