Lifted Toyota A90 Supra 4×4 Rendering Needs To Happen

The new 2020 Toyota Supra was met with a large boo from fans who expected something a little more Toyota, and a little less BMW. And while its German underpinnings meant it was still a good drive, it was rather anticlimactic for most. But what about if Toyota added a lift kit, four-wheel drive, and large off-road tyres? Yeah, now that sounds interesting.

We recently covered an A80 Supra which was converted into a diesel off-roader, and from the replies to the article it seemed as though you all loved it – despite the loss of the legendary 2JZ engine to make way for a diesel lump. Well this rendering from Rain Prisk looks at something very similar, but with the A90 Supra as a base to work from.

This incredible concept turns the Supra into a Baja monster, with huge off-road tyres, plenty of ground clearance, and roof rails for extra storage, in this case, a canoe. The cut away fenders make space for the four driven wheels to move, and a step down the side allows even drivers with what we call ‘Hammond-stature’ to enter.

Although mechanical specs haven’t been revealed for this rendering, we can more than appreciate how ready tis car is to be taken off-road and into deep water, with a snorkel reaching from within the engine bay and a winch perched in the centre of the front bumper between two towing eyes.

With Supra sales not quite looking the way Toyota wanted them to, we expect the Japanese company to start marketing it properly as soon as it hits the market. Maybe a one-off build like this could draw some attention to it. We’d be more than happy to take one and see what we can do with it…
