Have Some V10 Formula 1 Ferrari Sounds To Brighten Up Your Coronavirus Blues
With a number of the 2020 Formula 1 Championship races either cancelled or postponed due to the (really annoying) Coronavirus, we thought we’d reach back into history and pick out some of the greatest sounds of open-wheeled racing. Of course, we headed straight for the V10 era. Specifically, Ferrari.
On our trawl through Youtube, I found one video that sums it up, at least for me. You can’t beat the screaming of V10 engines muscling their way to 18,500 – 19,000rpm.
The video shows three separate legendary Ferraris, the F2001, F2002, and F2005. Let’s dive into these different models a tiny bit.
F2001
Used for the 2001 F1 season, the F2001 was designed by Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne.It won both the Constructor’s and Driver’s Championships with Schumacher behind the wheel. It later sold at auction for $7.5 million.
F2002
The F2002 was one of the greatest F1 cars of all time, winning fifteen Grand Prix races between 2002 and 2003. Some believe it to be the fastest F1 car ever. It’s certainly one of the most exciting, and just look at it with that Marlboro decal. Gorgeous.
F2005
On the other end of the scale, the F2005 was not an overly successful car. Ferrari had won the Constructor’s Championship for six years straight, but this car caused them to score their lowest result since 1995. It was argued, however, that these results were due to poor tyres by Bridgestone.
So, as someone says in the comments of the video: if you don’t like the noises, raise your hand. Then slap yourself with it. Hopefully, this will brighten your day, especially if you’re self-isolating. Turn it up, loud!
