Ford Escort Reimagined With Modern Mustang Lines
The Ford Escort was an iconic rally car that was produced from the late ’60s to the early 2000s and featured legendary variants that wore the Cosworth name with a whale tail wing. They were unstoppable machines and to this day hold their value. But what would it look like if Ford brought the Escort back into their modern portfolio? Our favourite render artist Rain Prisk took it into his own hands to show us exactly how he thinks it would go down.
He’s used design cues from the modern Ford Mustang to bring the new model to life, and while it’s said to have a similar wheelbase as the Toyota GT86, it looks a lot longer than the Mustang. It’s nice and low to the ground, accentuated by its narrow front lights, and it has large wheels wrapped in low-profile rubber.
We haven’t been treated to a look under the bonnet, but I’d love to see an Ecoboost engine from the Ford Fusion with not too much power through a manual gearbox to the rear wheels just like the original car. Maybe it could do with a whale tail as well? we won’t push our luck too much!

The artist never seen an Escort then?
Looks more like a modern take on the Capri than the Escort, which is traditionally sits higher.
