In today’s catch up we’ve had some sad news! A very rare and very expensive Ferrari crashed at the Goodwood Revival over the weekend. Also, yet another Ferrari F12tdf has been scooped up by a footballer, this one is exceptionally stunning, though. Then finally we take a look at a couple of bits of drama at the Nurburghring – an unexpected choice of car, and the fastest ever crash. It’s a mean track!
A Ferrari 250 GTO Crashed At Goodwood Revival
What does it look like when a Ferrari that’s worth several million pounds hits a rather sturdy barrier after spinning off a racetrack at high speeds? You can have a look for yourself as the video linked above shows a 250 GT swerve to avoid a braking car, then hitting a patch of wet grass. It spins only to smack the barrier, ruining its body work down its right side. Ouch.
Ronaldo Has Just Bought A Gorgeous Ferrari
£400,000 may be a lot to us, but to a lot of footballers it’s just a drop in the ocean. This drop in the ocean pictured above is Ronaldo’s latest purchase, a Ferrari F12tdf finished in dark cherry red, black wheels, and contrasting yellow calipers. Not a bad colour scheme to surround a purring 6.2-litre V12.
A Hearse Takes On The Ring
You can pretty much drive anything around the Nurburghring if you have the money. We’ve already seen busses, vans, even Robin Reliants take on the German racetrack, but this is something very out of the ordinary. Being part of a series by Jamie Orr called the “Audi Hearse DeathDrive Challenge,” it’s making its way from Madrid across Europe. Maybe keep an eye out?
The Fastest Crash At The Nurburghring Yet?
This clip shows what must be the smallest amount of time anyone has ever driven on the Nurburghring before crashing. It’s also extremely hard to spot so make sure you keep your eye on the right-hand mirror – although the video does zoom in for you. It shows the moment when a BMW E30 hops a kerb then hits another car. No one was hurt and both cars stop safely, but what a way to start a lap of the iconic race track.
