Felino Reveals The CB7R – A 700HP Road-Legal Monster

Felino, the exotic car builder based in Canada, has released a new sports car based on an older model named the CB7. This new car is called the CB7R, in which the ‘R’ stands for road. Yep, the original car wasn’t road legal, but this new one is and is “targeting an experienced clientele of sports driving enthusiasts” and looks to compete “with major international manufacturers in the high-end supercars segment.”

The base model, and I use that term lightly, hides a powerful 6.2-litre V8 under its hood with 525bhp and 486lb-ft of torque at its disposal. Step up to the next level and you’re treated to a 7.0-litre V8 that produces a remarkable 700bhp and 580lb-ft of torque. This, as you could guess, allows it to sprint to 62mph in a very healthy 2.9 seconds thanks to an ultra-lightweight body made of carbon fibre composite materials. The whole car weighs a subtle 1,135kg and boasts a 50:50 weight distribution. Plus, it will stop of a dime thanks to 6-pot and 4 pot brakes front to back.

If you didn’t think it could get any more hardcore, the CB7+ variant adds next-level aerodynamics and is even lighter than the ‘standard’ car. It’s no surprise that Felino believes this to be the craziest car they’ve ever built. Of course, things like this only come in limited numbers and with a hefty price tag. Prices will start at $360,000 with a higher spec car coming close to $660,000. Expect a full reveal later this year.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
