Driver Finds Out Why You Shouldn’t Mix Up Your Pedals The Wrong Way

I think everyone must have done something similar to this at some point or another. I once accidentally hit the accelerator pedal with a wide shoe when going for the brake resulting in a burst of acceleration followed by a sudden halt. Safe to say I threw those shoes in the bin, as my mother who was in the car at the time nearly had some sort of myocardial infarction.

Thankfully, in my defense, I was coming to a stop so was just about to depress the clutch anyway, meaning any attempt of the car to shoot off uncontrollably was thwarted.

Unfortunately for the driver exiting this car wash, that wasn’t the case.

Obviously pushing the wrong pedal, the car jolts forward, and in panic, the driver somehow doesn’t press the brake pedal or simply release the accelerator. Easily done… I suppose…

On the wet surface the Toyota understeers, pointing itself towards a fire hydrant and knocking it down resulting in a torrent of water now cascading down onto the upturned vehicle.

Thankfully no one was hurt, except for the driver’s ego – but the car will certainly have to be washed again. What a waste of a few dollars.

Ever had a similar experience? Let me know in the comments below.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
