Corvette C8 Z51 Rumoured Nurburgring Lap Time Is Disappointingly Slow

The Corvette C8 has undergone a serious transition to a mid-engined layout to allow Chevrolet to further push its performance above anything that a front-engined car could give them. But a rumoured Nurburgring lap time has been revealed, and all is not looking to so good the American supercar.

According to Muscle Cars & Trucks, the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z51 was recently spotted at the Green Hell, setting a lap time of 7:28 minutes. This isn’t overly fast, considering the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ performed a lap to the tune of 6:44.97 and their own Camaro ZL1 performed a 7:29.

The source of this apparently C8 lap time was not listed, but MC&T claims that it is an exclusive story from their own reporting. However, evidence seems to be lacking. What I expect this to be is a practice run before anything official to make sure the car can cope with the gruelling effects of the Nurburgring.

We will keep you updated on this as more news is released (or if anything is truly confirmed). I expect the C8 Z51 to perform a lap time of anything under 7:00 minutes.

  1. How do they know which corvette it is? Z06 hasn’t even made it to production if there is one. The only thing I’ve heard guesses at was a disguised stingray. Sounds like some pretty large leaps
