Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 And ZR1 Prototype Spied Driving On The Road – Exhaust Sounds

The Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 is definitely on its way now with a number of prototypes being tested in Marietta, Ohio. And now, thanks to Corvette Blogger, we’ve been able to get up-close and personal with a line of models. While they’re covered in camouflage, we do get to hear their sweet exhaust notes as they rev up while parked and eventually drive away.

There are four cars shown in this video with centre exhausts, and another with the exhaust exiting through the corners of the rear bumper. According to Motor1, Executive Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechte was hanging around the location, too. The site also states that there was a film crew there as well, hinting that there may be something more going on than just a testing session. Could this be a documentary, or maybe commercial in the making?

Rumours are currently all pointing towards the new Z06 being powered by a double overhead camshaft V8 engine, closely resembling the 4.2-litre Blackwing engine found in some Cadillacs. With it being naturally aspirated, current predictions are looking at 617 horsepower being produced by the Chevrolet supercar. To keep this power in check, the rear tyres have been confirmed to be 345/25-series at the rear, and 275s at the front.

With us hearing more and more from Chevrolet about the Z06, we’re sure we’ll probably see a full reveal soon this year, but until then, we’ll keep you updated with the latest rumours and leaks as we hear them.
