Bugatti Veyron Put On Dyno To Reveal Surprising Horsepower Output

We showed you this very Bugatti Veyron when the owner pulled off its body panelling to reveal its chassis underneath. Now, while he’s repairing the supercar back to its former glory, his team decided to put it on a dyno to see just what kind of power it’s producing.

With a long drive to Las Vega under their belts, they get to the dyno, ready to test just how much power the 8.0-litre, quad-turbocharged, W16 cylinder engine actually has. From the factory, the Veyron produces 1,001 hp and 922 lb-ft of torque, but what does it produce at the wheels?

Royalty Exotics’ Veyron takes three attempts to put down some realistic figures. An impressive 897 wheel horsepower and 909 lb-ft of torque is produced at the wheels, and an astonishing 1,076 hp and 1,091 lb-ft at the crank! That is incredible for an old car, and just goes to show the quality of the parts and build.

Those weren’t the only incredible numbers the Bugatti produced on the dyno. While sat on the rollers, it raced to 200mph. Wow.

In the future, the team is going to replace the factory exhaust with a Ryft exhaust system, which should the power of the car by 10%, resulting in a total power output of at least 1,180 hp. Not bad, not bad at all.
