Have you ever been in your car with a girl and asked yourself, “how am I going to get this girl hot for me?”

Well, as usual, Clarkson, Hammond and May and their Top Gear show have the answer!

Handbrake turns. Obviously. As Hammond says, “the handbrake lever is connected directly to a girl’s sexual appetite.”

“Like a peacock has its feathers, a young man has his handbrake”, according to Jeremy Clarkson.

In this clip where they discuss why an automatic handbrake is most definitely a bad thing – due to the fact you can’t pull off a handbrake turn – the trio discuss their attempts at getting a girl via this fairly known method between males.

May remembers the first time he attempted to use the handbrake to seduce a girl. Her name was Liz, and he planned to pick her up from outside a pub. In the usual James May fashion he had it all planned. He’d come in hot, pull the handbrake to fling the car round, “like the Italian Job”, and take her off to what ever James thinks is a good date.

Unfortunately, after a day of practice, the cable had weakened and by the time it got to actually pulling off the stunt, the cable snapped as it was pulled.

James says, “As far as she was concerned she didn’t know I tried to do a handbrake turn because I just got that ‘twang’. It was the only twang I got that evening actually.

“As far as she could see I just parked badly, the wrong way round and just got out the car. She just thought I was an arse!”

So, obviously this trick works like a charm. If you get it right. To see how not to do it, head over to this:
