The National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky welcomed The Grand Tour crew last month to film an upcoming segment fore the show. Before anyone gets too excited over the boys and this upcoming segment showing up in a future episode, I should point out it’s being filmed as supplemental content for the show and doesn’t appear to actually feature the boys.
The segment will not only serve as additional content for The Grand Tour, but also as “brand placement” for Michelin Tires. The teaser clip shown here follows a day in the life of Jim Mero, a GM development engineer who job basically involves driving Corvettes all day. Officially, his job is to perfect Corvette ride and handling, but I think that’s just a fancy way of saying he gets to rip around a track in a Corvette as much as possible and get paid for it. Lucky bastard.

Mero actually has a pretty decent repertoire of achievements under his belt, which makes him the perfect person the both the racing and engineering knowledge to be a test driver for GM. As he calls it, it’s the “best job in the world.”
Is it bad that my first though after watching the clip was “Man, he would be a much more likeable ‘American’ than Mike Skinner?”
