Jodie Kidd Relieved that She Turned Down Top Gear
UK Model Mum and racing enthusiast, Jodie Kidd, recently talked with The Sun about her opportunity to join Top Gear earlier this year.
The former guest on Top Gear and Stig adversary (as you see in the video below) is a good friend of former host, Chris Evans and it made sense to surround Evans with as many friendly faces as possible to make the transition as seamless as possible.
Well, Kidd knew best and declined the offer saying,
“It’s such an amazing job to have to drive cars around and to get paid for it. It’s something I love and adore.
“But it was always going to be quite complicated in the first year without Jeremy, Richard and James.
“Who knows what will happen in the future? It’s all still up in the air. But am I relieved I didn’t take the job last year? I’m very relieved.
“I wouldn’t have wanted to have got caught up in all of that.
“They (the BBC) were talking three-year contracts with 50 shows but it just didn’t feel right.”
You have to admit that it takes a lot of maturity to pass on an opportunity like that!
In any case, Jodie Kidd was always one of the more memorable interviews with her amazing stature, charming personality and most importantly, amazing driving skills around the Top Gear Track!
