The Grand Tour-Season 2, Episode 5: The Ripsaw EV2

I think it’s safe to say that at one point in our childhoods, every gear/petrolhead has at least once wished they could cruise up and down their street in a tank. Let’s face it, there are big beefy cars out there like the Escalade or Hummer, and then there’s a friggin’ tank.

Richard Hammond got to live out our dreams when he went to Dubai to test drive the Ripsaw EV2. The standard Ripsaw comes with a 6.6L diesel V8 and is considered the fastest tracked vehicle ever built. Of course, that’s just not fast enough for many.

Enter the EV2.

The EV2 takes the standard 400 BHP and cranks it all the way up to 700 BHP and 975 LB/FT of torque. You could probably spin the Earth around backward with one of these. And as Richard pointed out, just because it’s a tracked vehicle doesn’t necessarily mean it has a harsh ride. The EV2 has a ton of suspension parts and has more suspension travel than a Range Rover, giving it a rather supple ride.

In addition to Hammond’s video, we also have some footage from Howe and Howe Technologies, the creators of the EV2. Check it out below!

Cars, the Buffalo Bills, video games, comics, sandwiches, jelly beans, and the shooting star press; these are the things that Tony loves (in addition to his family, of course). When he's not spending his time writing tech reviews for theslanted.com, Tony puts his lifetime love of muscle cars to use on his 2015 Mustang GT. Tony's top three favorite cars are the 1973 Mustang Mach 1, Ferrari 458, and Aston Martin DBS.
